Sending mom home
Sara V. Cain, 62 of Millville, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at Cooper University Hospital in Camden. Sara worked for the Bridgeton Public School System as a substitute teacher for over 10 years and most recently was the Librarian at the Broad Street School. She also worked at the Walmart in Upper Deerfield for over 10 years until her retirement in 2020. Sara volunteered with the Bridgeton Emergency Ambulance Association as an EMT for over 10 years and was affiliated with the office of Emergency Management of Bridgeton.

Due to a medical condition that arised on 4/14/2023, mom had to be taken to Inspira Medica Center in Mullica Hill, NJ, in which she was admitted due to having an enlarged mass with swelling on the frontal part of her brain. Mom was transported to Cooper hospital on 4/19/2023. On 4/24/2023 a biopsy was done to see what type of brain cancer she had and the stage. After the biopsy things started to turn for the worst. My mom was unable to speak, walk around, use the bathroom, or feed herself in which a feeding tube was placed through her nose. During the waiting process for the biopsy, on 5/02/2023, my mom begin having a difficult time breathing in which they had to place her on a ventilator. At 12:26am I recieved a call that my mother had went into cardic arrest, in which CPR was administored. Later on that morning, I was informed that my mother's brain waves was no longer active. We then had to make the most hardest decision to place her as a DNR if needed, as well as to send her home to be with the Lord with no more suffering. At 6:22pm on May 3, 2023, my mother had gained her wings and entered into the gates of heaven to be with the Lord.

With all of this coming to us as a surprise, no one was prepared for any of this. My mother has resided with me for the past four years. Unfortunally, I've never had a conversation with my mother as to when things like this was to arrive. I have reached out to different past employements of hers to see what benefits if any she was eliglible for. While we are still waiting for the response, I have been in contact with the funeral director. After meeting with the director, it has come to the decision that I need to ask the community for help. Were raising money for final expenses.

We the family do appreciate everyone who has reached out to us, rather it was via text, phone call, post on facebook, or in person visit. We all was touched by mom in multiple ways then one and know if she could go out of her way to help others she would. So, please help us no matter how small it may be.

Her going home service will be held on Thursday May 11, 2023 at 11:00am at the Padgett Funeral Home in Upper Deerfield twp.
