Help Taylor get Top Surgery
Donation protected
Hi there, my name is Taylor and I am a trans man.
I finally came out last year (2020) and have never felt so free. In April 2021 I started taking Testosterone. I have done so much research on the medical side of my transition and now I'm asking for your help.
Top Surgery is a general term used by transgender people to describe an operation which changes the appearance of your chest. For transgender men it is a surgical procedure to remove your breast tissue (subcutaneous mastectomy). It is also called masculinizing chest surgery.
On September 9th 2021 I had a surgery consultation with Mr Guy Sterne of Stourside Hospital. Mr Guy Sterne is a consultant plastic cosmetic surgeon based at West Midlands Hospital who specialises in breast surgery and cosmetic surgery of the face and body. He is on the GMC Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery and is a member of the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) and the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS). He is fully insured and only work in hospitals with the highest standards of patient safety and care.
I am looking to raise a total of £4000 to help fund my surgery. The full cost is £7731.70.
Here is the breakdown of costs;
Total: £7731.70
Surgery: £7370 (covers surgeon, anaesthetist, hospital fees and 3 month post op aftercare)
Extra costs to cover Covid testing, PPE and additional cleaning services during Covid: £200* (If Covid is still rife at the time of surgery)
Travel: £101.70
I am planning to have my surgery in September 2022.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you can help even if it's just £10. Any amount helps.
