Tivoli Fire ruined our dreams

This past week has been one of the hardest weeks of my entire life. The hotel I have been working at for about 4 months was struck by lightning and set on fire which in turn destroyed the entire top floor of one of the buildings and devasted many of the guests staying at the hotel. You may have seen this story on the news (the resort is Avanti). I was working that day and I thought to myself how could this ever happen to such innocent and good people? Almost everyone lost their luggage, passports, money etc. Exactly one week later I was clocking into the same place when I receieved a call from one of my neighbors that my entire apartment building was up in flames. I rushed home to find everything I loved and owned completely covered in flames and ashes. We lost all of furniture, electronics, clothing, and some personal items we can never replace. I am not the type of person to be deeply affected by the loss of material items and neither are my roommates, Ryan Lohr and Ryan Patten. The part of this entire incident that affected us the most was that our 2 year old cat Helen was trapped inside our apartment and didn't have a chance at making it out alive. The reason I have created this fundraiser is to ask you to give me and my roommates a second chance at school and a second chance at living on our own in Orlando.
