Living Tribute to Smt.Rukmini Devi
The Fragrance of a Legend
The Remembering Rukmini Devi Festival celebrates the 120th Birth anniversary of the legendary Smt. Rukmini Devi Arundale, paying tribute to her and reminiscing her work as an innovator who conserved traditional art forms, making them available for the many artists today. For the very first time, the NYC Festival of Indian Classical Dance is dedicated to Smt. Rukmini Devi Arundale, her Legacy College of Fine Arts, Kalakshetra, and her vision in the Arts. A prestigious event, this Festival celebrates the rich cultural heritage and artistic traditions of India, showcasing the mesmerizing artistry of renowned Indian classical dancers. Our aim is to bridge cultures, promote unity, and deepen the appreciation for the universal language of dance through Indian culture. Having been active exponents of Indian classical dance ourselves, trained at the Kalakshetra Foundation, College of Fine Arts in India, we thought this would be an appropriate way to celebrate India's core message of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.
Your generosity will help us create an enthralling evening where the timeless artistry of Bharatanatyam takes center stage. Our goal is to create such ongoing festivals for years to come. Funds raised will go towards:
Expenses related to the creation of the production -costumes, photography, videography, light and audio services, graphic designing, printing, and other additional sources that will make this festival complete.
This Festival has been organized, produced, and presented by Damir &Tatyana--the Bharatanatyam duo and Kalakshetra alumni based in New York.
All donations receive a donation recognition letter for tax records.
In case we receive surplus funds, they will go directly to the Capital Fund of The Rukmini Devi Arundale Festival and will be used the following year .
We thank you for your support!
