Back to Slavery
Who hasn’t been amazed by the magic of Hollywood? Growing up, I was one of those kids who were born in another country but wanted to come and live in this magical land. I wanted to get an education and chase the so-called American Dream. The first sign that my dream came true was when I came here as a teenager. Within my first week of being in America, people assumed that I lived here all my life. I became acclimated to American culture fast because that’s just how much I loved the country. My love for America led me to drive cross-country and visit all 50 states except for Alaska and Hawaii. I lived in close to 10 different states. I was the one of youngest kids in the entire school and one of the best performers at that. Once I got my degree, I was fully ready to start chasing that dream I had fantasized about for my entire life. I never would have guessed that one day, this dream I held so closely would become a nightmare that has lasted 21 years and is still going on as I write this. Imagine you get home one night to find the suitcase with the most important and meaningful things in your life has been stolen—your college degree, your high school diploma, your driver’s license. Everything that is even remotely related to your future career, documentation that is impossible to replace, a degree that costed hundreds of thousands of dollars and years of hard work has suddenly disappeared forever. Even pictures of your family and childhood have been taken and you can’t replace those either. This happened to me. Right as I was about to call the police to report the theft, I received a phone call from a government agent telling me that they have it. They came to my apartment while I was gone, took it, and left. It has been 21 years and I still can’t get these pieces of my life back. I have attempted so many times and every time I have failed. This was in addition to being harassed by government agents every few days, being detained and arrested. For me to be arrested like a criminal—somebody that came from a family of upstanding citizens, raised to be well-behaved—that has never been taken to a police station in his life. Of all the awful things that have happened, that was the biggest pain of all. I never could have fathomed that this was only the beginning of a lifetime of discrimination. I went back to school to earn another degree—not forgetting my first dream. At the same time, I married and started family. I built a family of 5that hadn’t seen one good day. My children have never lived normally without thinking of the government as a big monster that will come and destroy us all. Well, it happened; our family of 5 that we have built have now destroyed mentally, emotionally, and physically. Different departments within the Government have made decisions designed to destroy us completely. For example, they didn’t allow me to work, or even grant me resident status. They put me in court for countless years with 5 or 6 judges, more than 30 DA working on the case. I also hired more than 7 lawyers to help me with my case—made possible by working day and night to earn money that was still taken out of my kids’ mouths. Hundreds of thousands of dollars have been wasted without achieving anything. Occasionally, the government will mess with us in one way or another. They will come to bother me at my work. One corrupted cop and his PD came and robbed me of all my work and my money that I built from scratch. He arrested me without the right to see a judge. Is that even legal? And if it is, in what world is that okay? I can’t tell you how many times government employees broke the constitution and pretended it doesn’t even exist. That corrupt cop threatened to arrest me if I started working again even after taking everything from me. Now I’m back to zero. All that wealth that I worked relentlessly build my Business back up, which I did. All this unfair harassment on top of me still trying to solve my case with the government who gives no response like I don’t exist. Like I’m not even human. How many government employees are earning their money from kicking me down and draining taxpayer money? How many are working against us despite the pain and suffering they keep causing, disregarding my future and my kid’s future that has been destroyed before it could even start. I built up my work again, just for the civil arrest in LA and the coronavirus pandemic to destroy all of it. I am like any other business that was devastated by the pandemic; the only difference is that every Business got government help in some way or another. What’s even worse is that I never received my $600 and $1200 stimulus. I applied and got denied 3 times for PPP, 3 times for EDD, 3 times for SBA loans. Targeted advanced and supplemental targeted. Is all this a coincidence or what? What is the actual reason? I have begun to sell anything and everything so I can sell make rent. I don’t know how long I can last. I don’t even have an authorization to work, the power, or effort, or money to start all over again after being knocked down by the government. Is the American dream a case that takes a lifetime and drained everything out of me? Is the American dream denying a business owner like myself help after an unprecedented pandemic took everything I had left? As I write this, we have an eviction, and are about to get a second one anytime soon. So, we became homeless. People in my family died without me able to say goodbye. I wake up every day terrified of who’s next; it could be my turn to die without saying goodbye to any of my family and loved ones. These are by far the most painful feelings I have ever experienced. I want to talk to the people in our government that are responsible for my misery. What did you get out of all this? Are you happy for the rules you make that slowly kill people like me? Don’t forget that KARMA WILLCOME BACK TO BITE YOU. I realize the only way to bring justice to me and my family after all the years of suffering, is to hire a big and expensive lawyer to take my case to the highest court. But for me to do that, I need people to stick by my side and support me mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially. It took a lot of racist government employees—spending our tax money and completely milking me of every single dime I earned by working so many years—to bring us to back to a time of slavery. A one-of-a-kind case and story that is crazy enough to one day be a book and movie. Why not use the tax money on people who need it—for school or anything else that does good in the country—instead of using my money that I earned to build my kids’ future? Instead of building a better future for all, they decided to use it to uphold their racism. I’m sure the founding fathers are bleeding in their graves right now for all that you did. The founding fathers that carved the CONSTITUTION onto the gate of history just for some racist employees of that same government almost 250 years later to come and put out of service sign on that same constitution and turning my AMERICAN DREAM to AMERICAN NIGHTMARE. Only God knows what me and my family had to go through. He gave us the power and patience we needed to last this long. Although it’s true that we have endured countless emotional, physical, and mental damage and we lost everything, I think our story will be a case that helps make history. JUSTICE NEEDS TO BE SERVED. We need to stop discrimination or people will go on suffering. In one way or another, it will come for every single one of us, especially for those who don’t try to stop or change it for the better. For these 21 trying years, me and my family have suffered and yet we keep going daily. It’s your turn to get involved and do something. Help in any possible way you can—if you have nothing to give, you can help by praying for us. I want to tell those racist government employees that had any part in me and my family’s misery that none of you love this country more than me. I might not be an American by birth like you, but I promise you, I am more American than any of you ever will be. I’m an American at my core; in soul and spirit; which unfortunately, none of you have ever felt and never will until you change, until you all truly believe that WE ARE ALL PEOPLE. WE ARE ALL EQUAL.
