Helping Sheila's Children
Donation protected
Sheila was driving home from the coast after a family reunion with her 4 kids in the car when we she became sick. Started having to pull over to vomit on the side of the road every few miles, she knew something was wrong but thought she could make it home. After pulling over around Gasquet she passed out on the side of the road. Her children couldn't wake her and were unable to call 911 since there was no reception. Joey (age 10) flagged down cars and they are able to drive up the road and reach cell service and 911. Sheila was taken to Crescent City hospital where they diagnosed the aneurysm and was flown to OHSU in Portland. She has suffered a hemorrhagic stroke along with the aneurysm.
Sheila is a stay at home mom to her 4 kids and this has been very hard on them. Luckily her husband was able to rush home to care for them and give them some normalcy. However with him taking the unpaid time off work and mom, dad and myself in Portland with her everybody's finances are very tight!
Sheila is expected to be in Neuro ICU for 10-14 days, then another 2-3 weeks after that in the hospital and then they will do a rehab assessment. We're hoping to gather some funds to help Dan with staying home and to help us to rent a hotel room to rest a bit.
Thanks for anything your able to do!
