On March 22, 2019 our good friend Bob was diagnosed with cancer.  Bob was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Right Ethmoid Sinus.  Bob started treatment soon after diagnosis.  He has undergone months of chemotherapy which have worn his body down.  Bob is also a type 1 diabetic which complicates his treatment plan.  The plan of treatment was to have chemotherapy and then surgery to "debulk" the tumor.  Bob had surgery on July 1st.  The surgery was supposed to last anywhere from 10-12 hours...unfortunately the surgery became so complicated that it lasted 20 hours.  During this surgery they had to get as close to the brain and eye as possible to remove what they could of the tumor without causing brain damage  or causing him to go blind.  They also removed all the lymph nodes from his neck. They then rebuilt his face with titanium plates to replace the cancerous bone they had to remove.   The surgeons where able to remove a lot of the tumor...but not enough to be done with treatment.  Bob was told that after he healed from this surgery he would start 6 weeks of radiation and chemotherapy.  Since this surgery Bob has had quite a bumpy road and last week he wasn't feeling well and they found an infection in the bone in his forehead.  Bob was put in ICU and the doctors determined that the infection could not be cured by an antibiotic and that they would have to once again go back in for a second surgery and open his head up and replace the infected bone with more titanium.  This brings us to today and Bob is currently undergoing a third 5-6 hour surgery to replace the plate they put in last week  (because it is not working) and they are also taking fat from his leg and putting it in place between the nose and the brain to stop him from getting infections, as the nose holds most of the bacteria.

Bob has used all his leave time up at work and his wife, Allison has become his main caregiver and has also run out of sick leave at work.  There is no time in the near future that Bob will be able to go back to work.  Bob and Allison are extremely concerned about the financial toll this has taken on their family and Bob needs to focus all his energy on fighting this beast and Allison is his caretaker and also balancing their two boys and house.  Needless to say, the financial burden is weighty and we would like nothing more than to help ease that worry so that both Bob and Allison can focus on what is most important...which is fighting this cancer with all they have and not worrying about other things that cause undo stress.

The most important thing all of us can do is pray for God's healing, but we would like to help Bob and Allison out financially to ease their worry during this most difficult time.

Thank you.
