Brothers,
In light of recent events that have highlighted the systems of racial injustice throughout America, ZBT Theta stands with the Black Lives Matter movement and pledges our support in combatting injustice. Over the past few years, our chapter has proudly become one of Penn’s most diverse fraternities on campus, and we feel especially accountable to support our black brothers and the black community at this time.
We’ve taken the time to select a few organizations which we feel contribute to solving these systemic issues from the ground up and also those which support those suffering and struggling within our Philadelphia community. We’re excited to be taking part in the Speak Up Penn initiative, which encourages Penn student groups, especially in Greek life, to use money left over from dues from the shortened semester to donate to organizations supporting the cause, and we will proudly be matching donations to the Philly Bailout Fund, Know Your Rights Camp, Bryan Stevenson's Equal Justice Initiative, Campaign Zero, NAACP and Reclaim the Block.
We will be using the money we paid in dues to match donations to these organizations, and have already collectively committed to matching over $10,000 in donations. We’re now asking for your help in raising money so that we can match as many donations as possible. Any amount would be greatly appreciated.
We hope you’re all staying safe during these times, and thank you for your time and support.
