This is Vanessa. I am a 26 year old teacher/coach from Germany living in LA since 2018 with a big heart for children and teenagers :)
I am currently in KENYA volunteering as a teacher in a children’s home in Bungoma (rural town 8 hours west from Nairobi)...
... providing EDUCATION and LOVE to orphans and needy children who would otherwise not be able to attend school or experience a loving home where people actually care.

We believe in the power of education to help end poverty! Both organizations make a big difference for their communities and especially their children. I am very blessed and grateful to be a part of it and provide my love and care for those in need.
Most pupils are orphans or classified as vulnerable. They come from the poorest homes in the area: meaning they don’t have access to clean water and cannot afford to buy soap for example, have no access to most things we take for granted every single day!
And with just a little we can help a lot!
Did you know it costs …
… $10 to provide lunch for 100 hungry kids?
… $20 to treat 10 children from malaria?
… $20 to cover the basic needs for an orphan incl. food, shelter, soap, toothpaste etc. for an entire month?
… $50 to take a child to school incl. education, meals and uniform etc. for an entire month?
… $150 to sponsor a teacher covering her/his monthly salary?
… $180 to buy a triple bed for an orphanage?
The examples above are just a few on how each and everyone of us can play a role and make a difference in these kids’ lives and for their entire communities!
