Hello, my name is Natalie Lay and I am a junior at Liberty University studying business. The School of Business has provided me the opportunity to travel to Titanyen, Haiti over spring break.
Liberty's School of Business is partnering with Healing Haiti, an organization that aids local businesses to help the people of Haiti. The orphan crisis in Haiti is terrible. While there are over 32,000 children in orphanages, 80% of these children have living parents. To help fix this problem, Healing Haiti focuses on job creation to provide a way out of financial poverty so parents can keep their children. Over March 13-18, we will visit these community businesses to learn about and help with needs there. In addition, we will bring clean water to the orphanages and care for the elderly.
There is a payment requirement of $380 every few weeks with the final deadline of February 24th.
Being able to use what I am studying in school to help others makes this trip meaningful to me. I am looking forward to working with Healing Haiti to provide lasting help for the Haitian people through job creation and immediate help through simple solutions like delivering water.
