Our second daughter, Zaza Evangeline, will be spending her 5th birthday in Heaven!!

Although Zaza was on this earth for only 11 days, her story has impacted many and we invite YOU to join us in celebrating ZAZA'S BIRTHDAY!

Each year our family will choose one ministry partner to support in memory of our precious baby and ask family, friends and colleagues to give a "gift" in memory of Zaza's birthday and impact God's Kingdom.

This year is a BIG YEAR. Why? Because it is Zaza’s 5th birthday Project! We have to do something BIG and we found just the perfect project for this year. Will you join us? Will you give to this special 5th year birthday project to make it happen? We hope you will!

Now here’s where this years project comes in… during those long days with Zaza, occasionally we needed a break. We needed to spend time with Faith. So here’s what we did. Where would you go with your 2.5 year old in this situation? You guessed it. The playground.

Turns out, there is a playground 1 block down the road from the hospital. We remember walking on the playground with Faith, while our world had just been flipped upside-down. She was running around playing, laughing, having fun. Even though our minds were focused on Zaza, the playground that day put a smile on our faces, a joy in our hearts, and a reminder of how good God is and how He had already blessed us so much.

The gift of play is transformative. Play is one of the most inherent forms of self-discovery and is essential to the development of all children. Research has proven that play helps children develop physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually. The restorative power of play is a key strategy used in helping children recover and heal from challenging or traumatic events in life. Every child in the world intuitively understands the language of play, but not every child in the world has access to a safe environment to experience play. Bringing commercial-grade playgrounds to places where such resources do not exist allows children and families to gather around a central point associated with joy, exercise, energy, friendship and community.

The playground we are planning to provide is a commercial-grade playground, like one you would see at a community park. It is designed to last a long time, ensuring all donations to have a long-lasting impact in the lives of children and families.

Once the money for shipping the playground is raised, we will ship the playground on a cargo ship to the country where it will be installed. An installation date will be scheduled along with a community gathering and ribbon-cutting ceremony. We are planning to travel as a family to the country the week of installation to participate in building, meeting the people, and be part of the ribbon-cutting. It's going to be awesome!
