Hi my name is Ed Garber. I am a long-time friend of Michael "Zayt" Taylor. You may know him as Zayt or Zate the Drummer from the band Seducer or the music scene in Charlotte and Asheville, NC in the 1990s and early 2000s. Drum prodigy, inventor of "finger drumming", an excellent friend to many and an enemy to no one.

Zayt lost vision in his left eye approximately one year ago due to retinal detachment. The loss of vision in his left eye is irreparable.

Now his right eye is exhibiting signs of retinal detachment, which will render him completely blind if he does not get the procedure to remove fluid from his eye and/or re-attach the retina if it begins to tear away. Retinal detachment can begin at any moment.

Unfortunately, Zayt has no funds to pay for surgery and is traveling abroad as this is occurring. *This surgery must be paid for in advance*

I am trying to raise money to pay for his surgery which can easily cost $5,000. The attached photo shows his one already blind eye. The pupil is completely closed and the iris is cloudy.
