On 27th July 2015 our beautiful baby boy Zayn entered the world. However, devastatingly his heart had stopped beating during the final stages of labour. The happiest moment in our lives suddenly became the saddest and most heart breaking.
Events following this showed a lack of support for families who have experienced still birth. We found that specialist hospital equipment following a still birth was limited and bereavement care was minimal, outside of the family unit.
Zayn's Gift aims to bridge this gap and turn something so sad into something more positive, and to help the families of babies who are born sleeping.
By raising funds we aim to either buy some much needed specialist equipment (such as cold cots which enables families to spend time with their baby) and/or strive to assist grieving parents and families, and/or contribute to the research into still births. Family and friends will be participating in many fundraising activities and personal challenges in memory of our precious Zayn. We're using "gofundme" for our online campaign as there is no page expiry or time limit and donations and sponsors for multiple activities and from multiple sources can be collected in one place.

Update - 9th October 2015 - After just one month since starting our fundraising campaign we have managed to reach our £10,000 target. We initially set out with this ambitious target expecting it to take months and maybe even years to reach, however the support and donations have massively outgrown our expectations! We have further fundraising events already planned so we've decided to increase the target to £15,000, meaning we can help even more families! My words can't express how overwhelmed we are with everyone's generosity - from the bottom of our hearts THANK YOU xxx
