Hi all.
More so than the traditional “holidays” in December, both October and November are always the hardest months for me between a lot of anniversaries of family deaths, the temperature making my back pain and anemia/always being cold worse, and general loneliness... I’ve not had the greatest time since I last had to beg to survive.
Once I got rent dealt with, and everything but my gas bill raised (sorted/paid today), I honestly just gave up on sharing my November fundraiser. I’m really just tired and embarrassed of having to do this month after month. Even something beneficial like finishing my portfolio website is a chore due to begging online and trying to shift through fake or harmful-to-life-itself job listings being the only ones I see anymore.
Thank you to everyone who helped share and gave to me last time. It’s insignificant, but the only thing I can really do is try to keep my cat fed and housed and healthy for as long as possible. Not much else there for me.
Below’s the breakdown of what I need for December:
Rent: $1175 on the 1st.
Electric bill: $71 on the 5th.
Got a small late fee attached, but still $63 going forward until spring (budget billing).
Internet: $186.94 on the 17th.
Steadily getting this down, but will be calling tomorrow (Nov 25) to see if I can get back to around $100 (or less!) a month. Have put that off since I hate having to be any sort of argumentative with a customer service person, since that’s all they deal with already.
Gas bill: $92-ish, around the 22nd (4th monday of the month?).
3rd of 4 on payment plan, which is $52 + actual costs, which’ve been around $40.
Groceries: $200
Because they’ve had refrigerated trucks, and lowest delivery fees, I’ve been getting Kroger the last 2 years. They’re getting rid of the trucks, but “generously” gifted me a free year of their Groceries as a Service crap, so at least until next November, I’ll hypothetically (barring Great Depression II) be able to get a *little bit* more per trip.
Remaining cost of Pooh’s vet visit: $320
If anyone has a recommended and trusted vet near me whose (discounted?) first visit is comprehensive and under $500 for an elderly cat (blood, poop, scans), please let me know!!
As always, thank you for helping Pooh and me survive. I wish I didn’t need to beg or need help in the first place. I’ll never feel worthy of your generosity.
