I simply cannot believe that we are just about 60 days away from embarking on our greatest journey yet. Zayde's NYC Deli will open this April 2021 at the Memphis Jewish Community Center for kosher dining services. Our lunch and dinner menus will offer diners a taste of artisanal kosher deli selections as well as a variety of old world Jewish cuisine with a modern twist. (And yes, of course, we will continue to offer catering, too!)
In making this transition, we are going to invest $18,000 to redesign the lobby cafe area for quick and efficient service and to include a comfortable, stylish seating area for all to enjoy when it is safe to return to in person dining.
Would you help? I'm asking friends of Zayde's to consider donating $18 (or more!) to help bring this vision to life.
All funds will go towards this redesign. Some of the less aesthetically exciting things these funds will cover include upgraded electrical supply for appropriate commercial coolers and appliances, renderings for facility approvals, sneeze guards (ok, maybe those will be a little aesthetically pleasing), carts to schlep things back and forth from the kitchen, additional plumbing, a double POS system, and some small wares.
And then there's the more aesthetically exciting things - counter redesign, signage, a dedicated wash station (an essential but often overlooked need for kosher diners), furniture, commercial refrigeration for grab and go, and tableware. For items like the wash station, counter redesign, and furniture, it is our intention to work with local artists. (We <3 supporting local artists!)
I am beyond grateful for your support, both now and when we make this move. When you support Zayde's, you are supporting and investing in the local community.
