
Rachel's Emergency Dental Surgery

Ever since I met Rachel, she has been fighting health battles that most people our age have never heard of, let alone experienced. She was diagnosed with a serious autoimmune disease when she was twenty-two that resulted in her eventually having a series of surgeries to help her get well. Before the surgeries, she was on a lot of serious medications with black box warnings- dangerous risks and side-effects. One of these meds Rachel needed to be on severely weakens bones and teeth. She had to be on this medication for close to two years. That coupled with a very restricted diet has resulted in serious dental problems. Rachel has had to take time off of the work she loves recently to try and get healthy. She sold her car to pay for as much of the needed dental work as she could, but unfortunately, there is much more that needs to be done. Recently, a couple of her teeth that looked "on the verge" of becoming problematic crossed that line and are now full-fledged urgent. She has fought so hard and is so close to being healthy,
