While driving back to Gainesville, GA from visiting family out of state, the Carters were involved in a head on collusion as they neared home. Zay was able to get himself out of the vehicle and assist his pregnant wife. Both were rushed to the ER at NGHS via ambulance. Their puppy, Lavendar, was brought to a nearby friend's house.

Zay has been treated for minor injuries to his face, and a broken ankle, at NGHS and has since been discharged. 

Meg is currently in critical condition, receiving surgery in the OR at NGHS for brain bleeding and swelling. She is also being treated for a broken femur, wrist, and heart complications. She is 18 weeks pregnant and is being carefully monitored.

Both, Zay and Meg are in the food-service industry, and will be unable to continue working for some time because of their injuries. Without work, it will be difficult for the two of them to make ends meet, let alone take care of the medical bills as a result of this accident. 

Their community has gathered to pray and provide for them while they continue to heal and get back on their feet. We are believing in full healing and restoration to everything that was lost as a result of this accident, and we want to be a part in making that happen.

As of right now, there is no way in knowing the full need here. We will continue to post updates, including their story and needs as things progress.
