Help Joe Beat Cancer

A few weeks ago Joe’s world was turned upside down. A mass on his leg turned out to be an aggressive form of cancer called Liposarcoma. The mass in his leg has veins running through it and also the artery laying over it. He has since been in and out of the hospital for his port to be placed and two separate operations to biopsy his leg and his chest. On Monday the 6th he has a PET scan to make sure it has not spread anywhere else. He will be starting Chemo on Monday May 13th. He will be having a very aggressive form of chemo called AIM. Joe will be in the hospital for five days every three weeks. Doctors have warned that he may not be able to work through his treatments. After his first round of chemo they will do more scans, and if the mass hasn’t shrunk enough he will go for a second round and follow that up with radiation. After radiation they will operate and try to remove the mass that is left. If they haven’t been able to shrink the mass enough the doctors have said the only option they will have at that time is to remove the leg.
After talking to Joe, he agreed to have me set up a go fund me so that if for some reason he isn’t able to work he won’t have to worry about paying medical bills and bridge the gap in pay for bills while he is on the long road to recovery.
