Legs for Peg
Donation protected
Dear Friends,
Pegasus (as we have now named him) was at a local shelter. My daughter was volunteering at this shelter and came across this sweet, loving little dog. He was picked up as a stray. His two back feet appear to have been tied off for an extended time. They are mostly dead and the remaining living tissue and bone are infected. He was going to be euthanized because the shelter did not have the resources needed to treat his extensive needs.
Pegasus needs a double amputation to survive and will need prosthetics to thrive. He is only about a year old and full of love and life! We have adopted Peg in the hopes of providing him with the necessary treatment to be able to live a full, rich life, despite the cruelty he has been subjected to. Even in the midst of excruciating pain he has been nothing but loving and sweet. Please, please help us to help Pegasus get back on four legs.
The veterinarian's estimated cost for double amputation and immediate post-surgery meds is $1950. The costs of rehab visits and exams, retraining to walk, cast impressions will be about $1100. Each prosthetic from Orthopets will be $1200-1500. Thank you for caring. Thank you for helping to get legs for Peg!
