Help Sharon

Hi guys..... it's me. I know Sharon may want to kill me for this- but I'm going to do it anyway. So........ here goes.

Most of my friends know my sister. She's an amazing nurse, mom, daughter, sister and she needs our help. Yesterday she underwent major surgery on her airway. They performed a resection (2nd) and removed about 17cm of her trachea in the hopes of giving her an actual airway. For the past 30+ years she has been breathing through a very narrow airway.... about the size of a straw...... and the last couple of years it has slowly gotten even smaller. She tried steroid injections and an attempt to open with a balloon but nothing worked.

So..... here we are in Dallas. Surgery actually went well. They didn't have to open her chest and she doesn't have a trach. She does have a feeding tube for now while we wait for the swelling to dissipate. Recovery will be a long slow process.

We all know how hard headed Sharon can be and she doesn't ask for help. So I'm asking for her. She actually thinks she's going to get out of ICU and go straight back to work.... we all know that's not going to happen even under the best of circumstances. We're not asking for much.... honestly I just don't want her to stress over bills while she's recuperating. Any help will be so appreciated.... you just have no idea.
