Christian's Kidney Transplant Fund
Donation protected
I always knew my brother was #1... and now he is #1 on the BC Kidney Transplant list! Not only that, he got the call today and is in Vancouver preparing for surgery tomorrow! This is very exciting news for Christian, his wife Yoko and their teenage kids Seija and Toby. As exciting as this is, it will also be a very costly time for the family.
There will be many expenses for the family, the largest expense being that he is required to find accommodation in close proximity to the Vancouver General Hospital for 2-3 months following his release. Short-term accommodation is very costly. Additional expenses include loss of Yoko’s wages for when she is needed in Vancouver, travel costs to the big city for family visits, food, recovery clothing, parking in Vancouver, and as always there will be unexpected expenses surrounding the hospital stay and recovery.
Christian is stoic and has remained strong throughout his many years on nearly daily dialysis including many ups and downs, hospital stays and medical procedures. He has more than beat the odds on dialysis and we hope he beats the odds again with a new kidney. A new kidney will give him increased freedom, better health, better quality of life and an increased lifespan… more time and energy to share with his family and friends!
I know how much it will mean to Christian and his family to have support and financial help at this already stressful time in their lives. Every little bit helps and we are forever grateful!
PS: If you have any leads to last minute month to month accommodation near the Vancouver General Hospital please let us know!
