Hi my name is Ryssa and I’ve been out as a man for 3 years. This is a surgery that could save my life, but it’s very expensive and insurance doesn’t help. I’ve been living in the wrong body and getting this surgery will not only help my gender dysphoria but also my mental health. Dysphoria is used in general to describe discomfort, distress, or unease. For trans people, this kind of distress may be associated with our gender, our bodies, or how those around us perceive our gender. Being in a body I don’t align with is detrimental I never have aligned with the gender I was assigned at birth. Going through life being seen as a man improves my life in so many ways. Not only would this surgery help me feel comfortable in my body, but it will also lift an heavy burden on my mental health. Getting this surgery means I can look myself in a mirror and see myself for who I am without having to bind my chest. Anything helps thank you!
