Happy New Year everybody! Hope your year is going well so far and you are happy and healthy. Unfortunately, I have some news that might be distressing if you haven’t already heard; Shannon has been dealing with a recent diagnosis of breast cancer and started chemo on 12/7. Don’t be mad if you’re just finding out; she didn’t want to be the grinch by telling people right before the holidays.
FUN FACT: Did you know even with insurance medical copays are hella expensive? Imaging, biopsies and chemo are costly AF. While her insurance is allowing access to the treatment she needs, the bills are starting to pile up.
Just a sample of the costs (after insurance):
Biopsies are between $2-$3K
Imaging $500 - $2K
Chemo - who the eff knows?!
Having to set up a crowdfunding campaign to help pay for these expenses in one of the richest countries in the world is completely ridiculous, but we’re not here to get political, we’re trying to help an awesome person pay her medical bills without having to incur a mountain of debt to stay alive.
