Hello! My name is Zander and I'm a 20 year old transgender male. I officially came out as trans when I was 17 years old after graduating high school and discovering that I was unhappy continuing to live my life as the female that people percieved me to be. I am currently attending Columbus State and will be transfering to Kent State in August to continue my education until Spring 2019 when I will graduate with a double major in Psychology and Sociology.
Over the last 6 months I have been making great strides towards medically transitioning and now I am ready to make a big step in the right direction. In January of this year I was able to schedule my top surgery (procedure to remove breast tissue) for May 18th of this year. Unfortunately, I have had some set backs recently that have resulted in me having to buy a new car and I now have to pay the hospital more than I originally thought. I'm currently working 40 hours a week at Staples on top of going to school full time, but even with all the over time I am working, I won't have all the money I need in the next 30 days.
The remaining amount I need will help pay for the hospital stay, anesthesia and other medications and also the compression vest that I will need to wear while my stitches heal. I will only be taking two weeks off of work and while I'm healing I will be losing out on $700 that would normally be used for my monthly bills.
I am so grateful that I have such an amazing support system that has supported my decision to transition and continues to empower me while I forge a new path for myself. I could not have gotten this far without their unconditonal love and advice. Thank you so much for reading my story and spreading the word so that I can live my authentic self.
