Zander's journey back to health.

Zander's health issues began when he was only 16 months old. His parents, Alex and Crystal Eastman, took him to two hospitals and ten specialists before the diagnosis of Systemic Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis was assumed. But soon thereafter, and a few more doctors down the road, what was thought to be doomed to remain hidden under the verdict of idiopathic, or an illness with an unknown cause, suddenly came into the light of the illusive Lyme disease.
Nonetheless, Zander was treated on and off for SJIA for two years until the treatments stopped helping altogether. There exists a tremendous controversy over Lyme as a valid disease even though thousands suffer with a host of consistent symptoms, and as many have found relief primarily under holistic treatments. Even so, the next step wasn't obvious.
There isn't much more terrifying than a chronically sick child, especially one whose issues are a mystery. Then Eastmans were told of a clinic in Kansas that had helped an acquaintance crippled by Lyme to achieve a remarkable recovery. So, with a kind of desperate hopefulness, they have traveled the distance to Kansas twice, over 1,300 miles one way, and shouldered the costs of gas, lodging, the clinic and all of the prescribed treatments out of pocket. He also has treatments locally 3-4 times weekly at $100 each that augment those he is already undergoing. Zanders's progress is gradual but noticeable and tremendously encouraging. There are growing signs of the healthy and exuberant child we all once enjoyed and the doctors in Kansas remain confident that he will recover.

So, in conclusion, we are asking those who can and would to help us help the Eastmans manage this trial with financial support. The Kansas clinic, Zanders stay, treatments and doctors etc., exceed $5,000.

The Eastmans are planning to take Zander back in the near future.

Any assistance will be deeply appreciated.
