Flood Relief
Donation protected
On October 19th, 2024 the metro Vancouver area was hit with a weather condition called an atmospheric river. As some areas flooded, it caused damage to peoples homes.
Steph MckKay is one of many people whose basement suite home was breached by the flood waters that hit Port Coquitlam, a suburb of Vancouver. As the water levels outside rose several feet deep, Steph, her 13 year old daughter and her two cats, were forced to leave almost immediately as the water rushed inside so rapidly there was no time to grab anything.
Upon returning to their house the next day, they discovered almost all of their belongings had been destroyed. The floor was still under inches of dark, dirty water. Their refrigerator turned on its back from the water, along with other pieces of furniture.
Steph is a wonderful person. She's a loving and generous mother, grandmother and friend. We're setting up the page to help pay for a deposit on a new rental for Steph and her daughter, along with replacing the many belongings destroyed by the flood.
