Zak's Recovery
Donation protected
Zak Schwartz is a beloved light in our Eugene community. He has spent most of his life here in Oregon giving back and facilitating healing through his work as a psychologist specializing in anger management and addiction. For decades, he has poured his dedication, time, incredible knowledge, and even more incredible love into such healing spaces as White Bird, Chrysalis, and the Oregon Country Fair. Zak has truly helped thousands of people here in Oregon, often at no charge. He has changed so many lives for the better, he has donated his time and services to people who could not afford care or were turned down by other mental health professionals because of the severity of their needs. And now he needs our help in return.
Over a month ago, Zak suffered a household accident that temporarily changed the course of his health and independence. His eventual prognosis is excellent, he has the support and love of his family and friends, and we do expect a full recovery, but his road to healing will be a long and difficult one. He will need care that our current healthcare system has simply failed to provide. He will not be able to return to his work until he has fully recovered, and we are looking to raise funds to provide respite for his caregivers and help him during that recovery.
Please donate what you can and share your messages of love and healing to provide help for Zak and his family in this difficult time. We want to see this wonderful man returned to full health so he can continue doing what he does best: caring for others and shining his love, humor, knowledge and brilliance on this community he calls home. If you can’t donate, please share this page as widely as possible. Thank you so much! Every good thought and healing wish is deeply appreciated.
