As many of you know, my brother, Zak Powers found out on New Years Day that he has a mass on his brain, after his symptoms sent him to the ER. He was then transferred to OSU and has undergone more testing and imaging. He has been at OSU since his initial ER visit as they are managing his symptoms until surgery. We will not know 100% what it is until it's removed and a biopsy done, but the initial diagnosis is a glioma about 7cm in size. His surgery is scheduled for Monday 1/8 at 7am to remove the tumor. It will be a 6-8hr surgery and his surgeon seemed pretty confident that he will be able to remove it all. Due to the recurrence rate of these types of tumors he will need chemo and radiation treatment after he recovers from surgery. There is a long road ahead and still a lot of unanswered questions about what is to come. Right now we are asking for prayers that the surgery goes smoothly and they are able to remove the entire tumor. Your donations will go directly to Zak and my parents, as they have not left his side since they took him to the ER on Monday.
