Help a New Family Through a Medical Crisis

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

We’re reaching out on behalf of Zakk, Marissa, and Penelope who need our support now more than ever. On what should have been one of the happiest moments of their lives, their journey into parenthood has taken an unexpected turn. Just a week ago, they welcomed a beautiful new baby girl, Penelope, into the world—a moment that should be filled with joy, love, and bonding. Baby Penelope was born happy and healthy, and she's been the light of their world since the moment she arrived. But shortly after giving birth, Marissa began facing serious medical complications that have kept her in and out of the hospital. She was able to come home twice, only to end up right back in the hospital, where she still is today.

What should have been a time of snuggles, first smiles, and family memories has instead been filled with doctors, sleepless nights, and worry. Through all of this, Zakk has been doing everything he can to balance hospital stays and helping to care for a newborn. The emotional and financial strain is starting to take its toll.

This unexpected crisis has turned what should have been a joyful time into one of uncertainty, worry, and financial strain. Zakk has taken time off work to care for their newborn and be by Marissa's side—without pay. With no income coming in, bills are beginning to pile up, and they are facing mounting medical expenses on top of their everyday needs like car payments, bills, and baby essentials.
