Update: I just got some recent news from Zak. He not only is dealing with the end stages of kidney failure but he thought he only had a minor heart condition. Well he found out that he now has to have quadruple bypass heart surgery. As he put it he never does anything half ass. Even through this news his spirit and outlook is still positive. Please now more then ever Zak needs our community to wrap our love and support around him. We love you Zak!!! No donation is to small nor to big, what ever you can do to help him and Alex his son get through this challenging time will be appreciated. If you can't donate then think about sharing on social media. Also down the line when he does get on the transplant list he's going to need to find a kidney match. Being a KAD and not having bio family to rely on he will need all the help he can get to find a match. When he knows all the info on how we can test to find out if we're a match he will let us know. Be strong Zak and know that your KAD brothers and sisters are standing by you!!!
Zak McGrath as many of you know is always making us laugh and being his funny smart ass self on FB. I know personally that he has brighten my day on many occasions. What I didn't know is what he's been going through the last 6 months. He just told me that he has end stage kidney failure and mild heart failure and needs a kidney transplant. Right now dialysis is the only thing keeping him alive. Even through all of this his happy disposition shines through!!! Honestly I don't know how he's doing it. I would be a mess!! Also he's not even on the transplant list yet... his happy disposition just shows how strong he really is. As many of you know Zak is a Korean adoptee so this fight is even harder for him. Since this has happened he can only work about 10 hours a week so funds are tight and medical bills are expensive. What's even more scary is two months ago he almost died and had to be in ICU. Thankfully he survived and Alex gets to spend another day with his dad. Because of the ambulance ride and his stay in the hospital Zak's medical bills have racked up to be 20k. Let's show Zak and Alex how much we love them and that his fellow KADs are here for him. Anything you can give will help and if you can't give money, I know that love, well wishes, and prayers would be very appreciative. Love you Zak!!!
