Zaine experienced challenges due to tuberous sclerosis complex along with epilepsy and autism. Even with all of the daily challenges, he woke up happy and faced each obstacle without complaint. Each day he was brave, strong, a hero and amazed us.
On January 14th, Zaine experienced a severe seizure which led him to be transported to the hospital. He sustained a serious brain injury causing him to be placed on life support. There were further complications after he arrived at the hospital. After exceptional care and multiple tests, they found Zaine’s injuries were too severe to be reversed and it was determined there was no brain activity. The family and Zaine parted ways on January 19th. Zaine was able to save several lives with organ donation and his spirit will live on through others.
We would like to lessen the burden on the family, and many have been asking how they can help. Every message of support, share of this campaign, and donation makes a difference. Let's rally around the Cantrell family during this challenging time and show them that they're not alone.
