We are fundraising for our much loved and cherished friend, colleague and all round respected community member Kahran McKenzie, who on the 15th December unexpectedly lost his beloved son Zahran at their home at Davenport Community here in SA. Kahran is a very proud and highly respected Adnyamathanha Kuyani Luritja man, a solo father, full-time SSO / educator with his passion delivering Adnyamathanha language curriculum to many students within our greater community, and we have also been privileged in more recent times to have him on our events team during his downtime from his already chaotic schedule. Kahran is a foundational member of multiple committees for community and sporting events within the Port Augusta and surrounding areas, and has tirelessly always put his family and community commitments well ahead of himself and never once would he ask for an ounce of recognition or assistance for everything he has done. We hope through this fundraiser that we can all help to ease the financial burden of respectfully laying his beloved son Zahran to rest, and with this all being further impacted by the loss of another immediate family member in the recent few weeks gone, and with past grievances of losing his youngest sister tragically, we can only emphasise Kahran's own resilience and his ability of always putting others before himself. He has always stood up for what he believes in, has always been on hand to assist others in times of distress and we believe that given the time he will be required not only take absence from his regular employment, but to adjust to the difficult future forward without his eldest son by his side, he needs our support as a whole greater community more than ever before! We also understand with the current time of year and financial pressures among us that donations can often be somewhat difficult, so any contribution (no matter the amount) would be greatly appreciated to help our dear friend, brother and colleague at this traumatic time.
Rest in Peace Zahran, never forgotten ♥️
