Hi, my name is Zahara, and I am extremely grateful to be able to share this opportunity that I have received with you all.

I have been selectively invited to travel to the United States to take part in an high performance lacrosse experience with Aus Elite Lacrosse, including a three day specialised training camp at the University of Maryland, followed by a high level tournament where NCAA college coaches and scouts will be in attendance, actively evaluating players. This opportunity takes place in July of this year and represents a vital first stepping stone toward my long term goal of competing at the collegiate level in the United States as well as broadening my chances at playing for Australia in the coming years.

Maryland is widely recognised as one of the strongest and most competitive regions for lacrosse, and training/competing will provide invaluable insights into the intensity, standards, and expectations of Division 1 lacrosse. The camp will focus on advanced, position specific coaching, allowing me to refine my skills, improve my game understanding, and receive direct feedback aligned with collegiate and world level performance.

Beyond the technical and competitive aspects, this experience will also be incredibly memorable, as I will be travelling, training, and competing alongside my teammates in a challenging, high performance environment. Sharing this journey with my team will strengthen leadership, resilience, and teamwork qualities that are essential for success at the next level.

Lacrosse in Australia is largely a self-funded sport, meaning athletes and their families cover the majority of costs associated with training, travel, and high performance opportunities. International experiences like this require a significant financial commitment, which is why I am seeking support to help make this opportunity possible.

This USA trip directly supports my future goals and ambitions by allowing me to:

* Train in one of the world’s strongest lacrosse regions

* Compete in front of NCAA coaches and scouts during live tournament play

* Gain a realistic understanding of what is required to pursue collegiate and high level lacrosse

* Develop as both an athlete and teammate in a demanding international environment
