Let's get Zack Wentz to the Paralympics!
Donation protected
Zack has always been a natural athlete. Growing up, Zack excelled in many athletic activities, incl. tennis, basketball, baseball, football, skiing, hiking, biking, and golf. Since he was paralyzed in 2008, Zack has dabbled in wheelchair sports like basketball and quad-rugby, has worked his way up in the wheelchair tennis world, and in 2011, Zack qualified for the U.S. Open in table tennis.
Zack now has the opportunity to represent Team USA for badminton in the 2024 Paralympics. In order to qualify, Zack must travel to numerous tournaments around the world and get fitted in a sports wheelchair (not covered by insurance), which will end up costing thousands and thousands of dollars. Zack must pay for his own travel, boarding and entry fees to these events out of pocket, which he can’t possibly begin to pay for on his own. That is why we are looking for help. Any amount that you can donate will go a long way in helping Zack achieve his dream of earning a spot on the USA Paralympic team.
For those of you who know Zack, you know Zack deserves this chance (a chance to chase a dream he doesn’t believe he can chase right now). We are here and we need your help to make this dream his reality. Zack was stripped of the use of the bottom half of his body when he was 15 years old and continues to fight through adversity; combating chronic pain, daunting medical diagnoses, and demoralizing discrimination on the daily. Zack is a selfless, compassionate human being with a huge heart. While at USC, Zack committed himself to helping others. He strived to make USC a more accessible and comfortable place for all students, especially students with physical disabilities. What started as a solo mission, trying to identify resources and make minor improvements, soon turned into Zack making significant changes in campus accessibility as USC Student Government’s Director of Accessibility Affairs. Zack also launched an annual wheelchair basketball tournament (this is the tournament’s 6th year) as part of Swim With Mike, a USC scholarship initiative that helps athletes with physical disabilities overcome their challenges.
Please help us give this beautiful, resilient human something to fight for by sharing whatever love you are able.
