Hello! My name is Zack Defreitas and I have cancer.

Last Spring I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Rectal Cancer - specifically Signet Ring Cell Carcinoma. A rare form of colorectal cancer in general but even more rare for someone my age. In the last 8 months I have undergone 8 rounds of infusion chemotherapy followed by 6 weeks of chemo-radiation therapy.

My next and final phase of my treatment plan is surgery - and we are just a few weeks away from the big day! My wife will have to take some time off of work for appointments leading up to and after my surgery and we are asking everyone for their help to help us stay on top of bills, groceries, and medical expenses.

In the last year I have learned that sometimes you have to reach out to others when you need help, something that doesn't come easily to me, but something I know is needed. We have received more support than either of us could have ever imagined and I hope that you will be able to help us once again.
