Zack Marvel Family Emergency Fund

My name is Kevin Marvel. My son, Zack Marvel was attacked and brutally stabbed in the abdomen on his birthday, September 21st, 2023. He has been recovering from emergency trauma surgery. They removed more than 24 inches of his small intestine and repaired a nicked artery. He is in stable condition at this time but unable to resume normal life activities. He has regular physical therapy and visits with doctors. As you can imagine, he is still in a lot of pain. He's been in recovery for almost five months so far. His doctors have told him that he is not ready to go back to work and support his family financially. Zack is the sole support for a family of 4. His recovery may be much longer than was expected. His Union 146 temporary disability runs out next month. He has a life partner, a 5-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old son (who was born extremely premature last year). We want to make sure their rent, bills and medical expenses continue to be paid. The person who stabbed him was arrested and remains in the Washington County Jail. There will be many medical, legal and financial challenges in this family’s future as a result of this heinous assault on a hard-working man.
