Zach Cochrane has been doing exactly that. His longtime goal of becoming a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine was accomplished in May 2017 when he graduated from Iowa State University’s vet program cum laude. He accepted a year-long internship in Boise, Idaho shortly afterward with his sights set on a new, notoriously challenging goal: an ophthalmology residency program.
He has recently finished applying to next year’s residency opportunities, and thanks to his countless hours of intense work and a hard-earned list of accomplishments, he's already received requests for interviews at some of the most well-respected veterinary hospitals across the country. And that’s just the beginning! Congratulations, Zach!!
Now we just need to get him to these interviews :) ! He’s rapidly lining up multiple cross-country trips for two-day interviews at each location. Airfare, lodging, other transportation and meal costs add up pretty quickly, especially for a recent-grad intern.
