We are the Rogers family and we are raising funds for our son/brother Zachary.
Zachary was out riding his bike when carelessly, he was hit by a car. Sadly the car did not stop nor did they call the authorities to issue an ambulance to come to his rescue. He has sustained a great amount of trauma throughout his entire body beginning with fractures to his spine, clavicle, ribs and sternum. He is also suffering 3rd-degree road rash throughout 40% of his body that will require extensive skin building and grafting, especially in the areas where the bone is exposed. Due to being dragged under the car, he will also need reconstruction surgery on the left side of his neck, face as well as his left ear, which was amputated during the accident.
Zach is currently being treated in a burn unit and we are told that his total recovery process will be between 6 months to a year. We are very blessed that Zach made it through alive but he has a long road to recovery ahead. While he does have health insurance, it will not cover all of his medical expenses. We are also looking at other costs of living as well as legal fees to pursue an investigation into this hit-and-run.
