Zach’s Leggs-Calve’-Perthes Journey

In January Zach began limping and complaining of pain to his leg. After testing and multiple X-rays it was confirmed that he had Legg-Calve’-Perthes disease. This is a disease that cuts off the blood supply to the top of the femur and disables the part of  bone that fit into hip joint. It typically occurs to one side of the body. A month later another X-ray showed something  was happening..not only did he have one leg but BOTH legs were involved. This is very RARE. 6 months later with constant wheelchair rest both of his bones continue to deteriorate and die. He is in need of seeing a physician in Dallas who specializes in this disease to see treatments since current methods aren’t working. The Amaro family are amazing, they have 5 children and are always helping their extended family and community. Let’s give back and return the favor to them. Money would be used for medical expenses, new wheechair, possible surgery, and travel/housing/money lost for seeking treatment. Anything would help. Please share and spread the love. Thank you!
