Story

August 21st 2019 was 13 year old  Zach Lindholm's first day back to school after what felt like way too short of a summer break. After a fun day of reconnecting with his friends, Zach's day suddenly took a turn for the worse as he  was in an accident with a car while riding his bicycle. He was heading to see his best friend and he was not even a quarter mile from his home. On the road where he lives the speed limit is 55 mph and he took a hard impact. He barely made it to the hospital, but thanks to the professionalism of the EMS squads he arrived, only to be rushed into emergency surgery for a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury).  Zach has been in critical care in a medically induced coma ever since, to allow his brain time to heal.  Zach is the youngest child, and his older brother Gunnar, and sister Lexi  are avid bicyclist who love to ride together with the family on long rides. There is no way to predict Zach's outcome, or what his  functioning ability will be at this time. He is not out of the woods yet, and it will be a long road to recovery for Zach and his family as well. Due to the nature of insurance nowadays, the medical bills are already coming in, to the tune of  several thousands of dollars, with many unforeseen medical expenses ahead.  I am sorry I can not estimate the costs of this accident, but according to Nation-Wide averages one day in the ICU costs $4,004; Zach will celebrate his 14th birthday in the ICU (His 11th day in ICU). Hopefully Zach can be released from critical care in the next couple weeks and enter rehabilitation,  which the Doctors have said could be "Months to Years", and  we are unsure how much the insurance will cover.  Please consider even a small donation to help Zach and his family in these trying times, if you are not able we only ask for your prayers and good wishes. Thank You!
