Hi! I’m Zachary. I was born with an extremely rare disease known as Prune Belly Syndrome. It is so rare that it only occurs about 1/40,000 live births. 50% of us will not live past our 2nd birthday. I was born in March of 2018. I spent most of my first year of life inpatient at Lurie’s Children’s Hospital in Chicago, Il. I’m currently scheduled for my 8th surgery in November and due to all of my frequent illness and the damage it did to my already compromised kidneys they I am in need of a kidney transplant. I currently only have one functioning Kidney and it only functions at about 28% on a good day. I have not gained any weight or grown taller in 6 months due to my kidney failure, my constant nausea, and frequent vomiting due to the toxins my kidneys are unable to filter out of my blood.
Average cost of a kidney transplant It can cost anywhere from $33,500 up to $143,000 for a kidney transplant. Afterward it costs about $17,000 per year for anti-rejection drugs.

Hi!! I’m Amanda Vossoughi. I’m a single mom of two boys…Samuel who is 4 and Zachary who is 18 months. I was terminated from my full- time job due to missing so much work last winter while Zach was on life support in a coma for two months. I currently work 2 part-time minimum wage jobs. Zachary’s compromised immune system does not allow for him to go to daycare.
Preparing for a transplant requires numerous extra trips to Chicago for testing. Every trip runs roughly $100. 160 miles roundtrip plus tolls and parking. When Zachary has his kidney transplant we will need to live downtown near the hospital for 6-8 weeks once released after his surgery.
