Zachary Jimenez Memorial Scholarship

Zachary Michael Jimenez was born on 03/16/83 he recently became an Angel on 02/28/14. Zachary was only 30 years old. Zachary was an amazing person who touched so many lives. He loved life and was the life of the party. He always had a smile on his face and was nice to everyone he came in contact with. He will forever be missed but never forgotten.
We have decided to start this scholarship to Keep Zachary's name and life alive. Zachary loved to give back to people so that is exactly what we will do in order to honor his name.
Zachary loved to wrestle, he started when he was 4 years old and continued up until he graduated from Lakewood High School in 2001. He made it all the way to the State Championships. He also had several athletic acheivement awards throughout his wrestling career. Even after highschool Zachary used his jokester tactics to get anyone to wrestle with him at any given time, because he loved it so much.
We, his family, are setting up this scholarship fund so that every year Zachary will be able to help and exceptional Senior who has loved and excelled in wrestling with money towards their dream to go to college.
The scholarship is not enormous, but we hope it will help offset the cost of books or other school supplies for an incoming freshmen. Many Seniors face financial hardship, so even this small amount will help ease the burden as they try and create a better life with the benefit of a college education.
When these seniors send in their essays to apply for this scholarship our family will read these stories together and decide on one lucky applicant. This will not only bring our family even closer together but it will let February 28th be a day now of happiness for not only the applicant, but for us as well.
If our fund in the future increases in size we plan on helping more than one student each year.
