Zachary Blanchard's Memorial

The Blanchard family is currently raising money for the travel expenses involved with bringing Zachary and his possessions back to Albuquerque. There have been a few extra expenses regarding travel, and if possible, the family would like to help alleviate the travel expenses for Zachary’s roommates to attend his memorial.

 

Unfortunately, Zachary took his life on April 11th, 2022 while attending California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo, California.

 

If you knew Zachary you would know his family adored him. He and his other two brothers, Josh and Adam were often found one wheeling around the city of Albuquerque or wherever their travels took them. Zachary was also well known for his many one-wheel travels around the campus of Cal Poly, often riding his one wheel directly into choral rehearsal. Zachary became a certified pharmacy technician with his extra time during the pandemic, catering to those in need and helping with the first rounds of Covid-19 vaccinations. He was a true pillar of goodness in his community. In combination with his pharmaceutical work, he had been studying biomedical engineering at Cal Poly. He also was incredibly musically gifted and did work with both the Santa Fe Opera and two choirs at Cal Poly.

 

Zachary was a beautiful young man inside and out. He was a man of incredible intelligence, kindness, and you could often sense his empathy for others and love for his family. He will be deeply missed.

If the fundraiser surpasses its goal, the additional money will be donated to the Young Voices of the Santa Fe Opera.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, April 24, 2022, 3:00 p.m., at FRENCH-Wyoming with a reception to follow.
