Our family has tried for days to write these words - nothing has seemed adequate to describe the loss we feel in losing our son, brother, uncle, and friend, Zach Shannon. Zach passed unexpectedly on Monday, April 5, 2021, leaving behind a huge hole in our family and our hearts. As many of you know, Zach’s personality (and body) was colorful, bold, and hard to ignore, and we’ve found his absence to be very much the same. 

Family was important to Zach. He cherished his parents, greatly loved (pestering) his sister, niece, and nephew, adored his great niece, always enjoyed time spent with his cousins, but his favorite time spent and absolute proudest achievement was being a father to his two amazing children, Dustin and Paisley. Zach’s kids were his world - he loved watching them grow, was always excited to share stories and pictures, and they constantly brought a smile to his face.  They have lost an invested and supportive father, their biggest fan, and their very best friend. We are asking for your support in helping his kids during this very difficult time - with stories, memories, and pictures of time spent with their dad, and if possible, a donation. All proceeds raised will go towards establishing a fund for Dustin and Paisley’s future.

Zach’s gypsy soul and playful spirit led him on countless adventures traveling the states where he made many friends that became family. We know people across the nation are feeling the loss of our beloved ‘Bozak’. To each of you - thank you for your thoughts, prayers, stories, pictures, and donations. They mean more than you know.

We will be honoring Zach’s memory and celebrating his life on Saturday, May 1st, 2021 at 11 am at J.C. Kirby Funeral Home in Bowling Green, KY.  Visitation hours with the family will be on Friday, April 30th from 4 pm - 8 pm and Saturday, May 1st from 9 am - 11 am at J.C. Kirby.
