Zach & Emily Leavitt, Jennifer & Denali Blaine

Hi everyone. I’m Becca, Zach’s aunt. If you are reading this, you probably already have a connection to someone in the Leavitt or Blaine family and know just how amazing they all are. You are extra blessed if you get to call them family.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of four amazing individuals from these two families. On Friday, September 1st, Zach Leavitt and his wife Emily, along with Emily’s mom Jennifer Blaine and little sister Denali Blaine (11) were headed to Idaho on a family vacation. Shortly before 10 pm their car crossed over into oncoming traffic and hit a semi head on. All four passengers died at the scene.

As you can imagine, this tragic accident has brought a lot of pain. Zach and Emily had just celebrated their first wedding anniversary. Their infectious smiles, warm hearts, and boundless generosity touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know them. Their absence is already felt so deeply and to say they will be missed is an understatement.

Your outpouring of love, words of comfort, and service have meant so much. Zach’s mom mentioned that many of you have shared memories and sent pictures of Zach and Emily, and that this has lifted their spirits. Please continue to share!

Both families have two missionaries serving in various parts of the world. This loss has been especially challenging for them, as they are miles away from their grieving families. If you could take a moment to send some extra prayers their way, we would be so grateful.
