Zach Eisner's Medical Fund
Donation protected
On Wednesday April 19th, 2017, my 13 year old nephew, Zachary Eisner, was in a horrible bicycle accident. Zach was unconscious at the scene, and was then transported to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC where he was then put on a ventilator and rushed into surgery for an emergency craniotomy. Zach had an epidural hematoba in his frontal lobe, otherwise known as a buildup of blood in the skull.
For hours it was unknown whether or not he would be okay.
Zach's surgery was successful and the blood clot was removed from his skull. He has a skull fracture on his frontal lobe, a large laceration on the back of his skull, and almost every bone in his face is broken due to his accident. The rest of his body is sore and he is in constant pain daily. He spent a total of five days in the Intensive Care Unit before he was moved to where he is now, the Children's Institute- where he will undergo major rehabilitation.
His mother Jennifer, my sister, has always been the kind of person to be reluctant to ask for help. But she needs it right now. She is a single mother and has been raising Zach all on her own since the day he was born. He is her entire world. My sister has worked in medical care for years, but has only been at her new job at the Hillman Cancer Center for 4 months, and therefore does not qualify for paid leave. With a job my sister is able to make ends meet, but without working plus a mass amount of medical bills and expenses, she will not be able to do it without help. My family is doing all that we can do, but we cannot do it on our own.
This fund is to pay for Zachary's medical expenses and to support him and my sister in their time of need.
Any donations and prayers at this time are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
