*Zach Attack 2025: Bigger, Louder, Kinder*
**Goal: $2,000 | Tip Date: March 2026** Exact date TBD
Zach was *everyone’s* friend. The guy who could walk into any room and leave it warmer, funnier, and somehow more alive just by being in it. For over 20 years, he worked in Traverse City’s service industry—cooking, cracking jokes, remembering your name, and reminding you that even the toughest shift could have moments of joy.
When Zach passed away in September 2022, our world got quieter. But I knew I couldn’t let the best parts of who he was disappear. That’s how **Zach Attack** was born.
Every year on his birthday, we gather for a big family-style dinner in a Traverse City restaurant—laughing, telling stories, and sharing memories. At the end of the meal, we cause a little joyful chaos as we **surprise one lucky server with a $1,000+ CASH tip.** No tip pool. No management cut. Just pure, direct kindness.
We also host a small breakfast the next morning and give a second surprise tip to another deserving server—because Zach wouldn’t stop at just one.
One of our first recipients returned the next year to donate and join the celebration. She told us, *“I feel like I’m part of your family now. When I hear people at work talk about anyone named Zach, I ask 'is that my Zach ?” * That’s the magic of this.
We’re now in our third year, and this time we’re going even bigger:
**Our goal is $2,000**—to give two life-changing tips to two incredible service workers.
We’re using GoFundMe so more people can see the progress, join in, and help us hit the goal.
We’re asking you—**even if you didn’t know Zach personally**—to help us keep his legacy alive.
If you’ve ever worked in a restaurant, or loved someone who has, you know how hard those off-season months can be. This is more than a gesture—it’s a reminder that someone sees you, values you, and wants to lift you up.
**Every single dollar matters.**
If you can give $100, amazing.
If you can give $5, also amazing.
✨ If you can’t donate, **sharing this page and writing something personal about why kindness matters is just as powerful.**
We’ll be sharing photos, videos, and full transparency again this year, so you’ll see exactly how your donation turns into a moment of joy.
We’re still choosing a restaurant for this year’s big dinner—so if you have a favorite Traverse City spot, send it our way!
Let’s do this again. Let’s make hearts full, eyes misty, and one server's day unforgettable.
Let’s keep #ZachAttack alive. Let’s do it #ForZach and #ForTC.
Thank you for showing up with love and kindness. Zach would’ve loved this.
