Hey everyone, many of you know that 2 of my brothers got into a serious car accident Thursday night. Zach got life-lined on scene and Andrew wasn’t stable so they transported him to CRH and then life-lined him as well. They are both at IU Methodist in Indy. Zach was ejected from the car and broke both femurs, his left tibia, and his right tibia and fibula. Zach also broke bones in his feet and pelvis.  Zach was taken to surgery Friday morning to fix the compound fracture in his leg and set his legs with external and internal pins and screws.  Zach was in a medically induced coma until Saturday morning.  They then noticed him not reacting correctly.  He was found to have had a traumatic brain injury.  He was moved to the neuro ICU from the surgical ICU.  They monitored his brain activity and worked to see if he was responsive from Saturday to Sunday.  

Andrew has many injuries as well.  He was found to have a brain bleed, broken nose and broken jaw in 3 places.  He has a broken sternum, broken ribs and tension pneumothorax making it difficult to breath.  He had a liver and spleen laceration.  His pelvis was broken.  His left upper arm had a compound fracture.  His bleeding stopped without need for intervention.  He was taken to surgery Friday to fix his broken arm.  Andrew woke up on Friday evening.  He was able to converse and was oriented.  Andrew is in a lot of pain.  He has been battling nausea and breathing problems.  They placed chest tubes to fix the tension pneumothorax.
