HELP UNITE THEM
Daniel has autism and cannot speak. His family and teachers did not know his thoughts and feelings. In 2007, Daniel’s life changed dramatically when he learned how to communicate using supported typing. Now he types his thoughts and dreams one letter at a time. And what are Daniel’s dreams?..... to go to college and have friends like other young people. He also wants to be a writer and advocate for others like himself. Daniel completed his GED, audited classes at UWL and will attend college this fall. However, sensory overload and intense anxiety associated with autism make it difficult For Daniel to form friendships.
Daniel would love a dog to help him through life. A trained Autism Service Dog would calm Daniel by providing skilled companionship and help with troubling behavior resulting from autism. Training a service dog is expensive. It takes two years. to select and train a dog to meet Daniel’s unique needs.
Daniel must raise $15,000 to achieve his goal. He is contributing his earnings from a Foxxy Shopper Route. Can you help bring this special animal into Daniel’s life? Individual/ group donations of any size are welcome!
