Brown Park Fieldhouse Fund
We, the members of the Brown Park Advisory Board established in 2009, have taken on a challenge to help uplift our community by maintaining and improving a relatively unknown, very lovely park in our neighborhood. Brown Memorial Park is located on 86th Street just east of St. Lawrence Ave. In the Chatham community. It was named after Mr. Sidney Brown who was the first African-American firefighter to die in the line of duty in the history of Chicago.
Our Board would like to make certain that this important memorial site is properly maintained and utilized with careful supervision while serving the public with healthy park activities for all ages on well-maintained grounds. Our highest goal is to build a community center/field house on the grounds where supervision and well thought out activities can be planned and carried out.
